The Dean Clough centre is a nationally renowned landmark site in Halifax West Yorkshire. Measuring two thirds of a mile from end-to-end, it once hosted the largest carpet manufacturer in the world and since 1983 it has been celebrated as a model of regeneration. Pivotal to the successful renewal strategy at Dean Clough is the True North Arts Centre cafe.
In phase 1 of the project, True North Arts Centre chose R+W Larch and steel collection to reflect the industrial aesthetic of this extraordinary building, phase 2 introduced the SunSquare system to provide shade from sun and protection from rain outside the Viaduct café at the centre. A Sunsquare Sail is not just any sail. Each sail is adapted to the structural surroundings and needs of the customer, the sail becomes a design feature, at Dean Clough its contemporary sweeping lines offer a perfect contrast to the rigour of the mill buildings.
